Wenceslas Square is one of the most popular tourists’ areas in the heart of Prague and the right place for Christmas markets.
It’s mostly the wood-carved toys, glass-work ware, blacksmith´s ware or confectionery what is sold at the Market. You can buy also every sort of Christmas goods like decorations, chains etc.
The variety of food and beverages sold at the market is very generous. Visitors may look forward to traditional Czech food as barbecued pork, blood sausages, Czech muffins, conkers, beer, mull, mead and other typical gastronomical specialties from Old Czech cuisine.
The Christmas tree is decorated with traditional ornaments, stars and red ribbons. Inside it, you will find a nativity scene. The tree will be lighted every day from 5 p.m. („at every whole hour“). Also here, you will see two special light animations. The first one is inspired by the symphonic poem Vltava - the Moldau by Bedřich Smetana; the second by the title track of Krkonošské pohádky - Giant Mountains Fairy Tales by Vadim Petrov.
The youngest ones can look forward to a small zoo corner.
Opening time of the stands:
