JKOK (Jan Kaplický in the Dancing House)

The exhibition is held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished Czech architect and visionary Jan Kaplický. The retrospective exhibition will feature the best of Kaplicky 's work and some yet unexhibited works and projects.
The exhibition will be divided into three thematic parts. The first one will display the Kaplicky's iconic works or projects – such as the model of the Czech National Library also known as Blob or as Octopus. The second part of the exhibition will move the focus slightly on his parents – important artists – and we will find out what and who inspired Kaplicky. The last part will deal with architect creative process and its individual phases and will present visionary moments in Kaplicky's work. Exhibits will include the concepts of futuristic vehicles including spaceships. The most anticipated part of the exhibition in the Dancing House will be yet unexhibited works, projects and concepts borrowed from the Kaplicky Centre Foundation.
The exhibition will be realised by architect Eva Jiřičná with the studio AI-DESIGN and the Kaplicky Centre Foundation. The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Mayor of the City of Prague, Adriana Krnáčová.
