The exhibition is devoted to the duke Albrecht Václav Eusebius Wallenstein, who was the first owner of the Wallenstein Palace and who was also a distinguished politician and military leader.
Albrecht Václav Eusebius Wallenstein (*1583) became to be the supreme commander of the Habsburg Monarchy´s army in 1625. Further on, his political influence increased and since he used his credit to grant loans to Ferdinand II, he was an emperor’s partner but also a creditor. Thanks to this, the number of his enemies rose and finally, the duke was assassinated at the request of the emperor.
The exhibition in the Mythological Corridor of the Wallenstein Palace presents not only his life and how historians and writers have interpreted it, but also his interest in astrology, and contribution in the field of architecture. The exposition also includes photographs illustrating the dukedom of this skilful entrepreneur, merchant and military leader.
