Prague Castle together with the Association of the Fine Artists Manes is preparing an exhibition dealing with the influence of the impressionism on the Czech art. It is a follow-up to the project My Homeland – A Tribute to Czech Landscape Painting.
Impressionism was one of the most amazing art style that has influenced many artists in Europe as well as overseas. Thinking about the Czech artists one can mention for example Václav Radimský, a friend of Claude Monet, who stayed in France for more than 20 years. Antonín Slavíček, Antonín Hudeček, František Kaván, Antonín Chitussi, Rudolf Kremlička, Alois Kalvoda, Joža Úprka, Oldřich Blažíček are other distinguised painters using this style. Concerning sculptors, Josef Mařatka and Bohumil Kavka will be presented.
520 pictures by 78 authors, borrowed from more than 50 institutions, corporate companies and private owners will be exhibited in the Prague Castle Riding School.
