Prague Castle 1918–1929. First Czechoslovak Decade.
Prague Castle - Teresian Wing of the Old Royal Palace (Tereziánské křídlo Starého královského palace), Pražský hrad, Praha 1 - Hradčany, 119 08
- 27. 9. 2017 – 31. 3. 2018
The exhibition is organised to commemorate the 100th anniversary from the declaration of Czechoslovakia.
From October 1918, Prague Castle is a symbol of a new, independent country and also the residence of the first representative (president).
The needs of a presidential residence resulted in the reconstruction and rebuilding of the castle by Karel Fiala and Josip Plečník. Furthermore, in this time, the works on the St Veits Dom were completed thanks to Kamil Hilbert and Ivan Borkovský.
The exhibition in the Theresian Wing will offer documentations of historical, personal and building development and on the display will be put also the results of archaeological explorations.
