The Oriental Art Collection is comprised of 13,574 objects from Japan, China, Korea, Tibet, South and Southeast Asia, the Islamic cultural area and Africa. Its scope and significance make it one of the leading collections of such material in Central and Eastern Europe.
The first floor of the Kinsky Palace is an exhibition of Asian Art from the collections of the National Gallery in Prague. This is a comprehensive showcase of ancient and contemporary art, presents the most important ensembles of archaic Chinese art, Buddhist sculpture, Tibetan votive paintings called thangkas, Islamic pottery and metalworking, Japanese woodblock prints and illustrated books, and old and modern Chinese painting.
