Prague welcomes the year 2018 with a traditional fireworks show.
The firework will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovakia, which was established on October 28, 1918. The organisers will use national colours; and it will end with tones of the national anthems.
The central theme is One Hundred Years in the Capital City of Prague but the firework will also kick off the celebrations of Czechoslovakia´s establishment before 100 years. It will also celebrate one more anniversary ie. the establishment of the independent Czech Republic.
The firework will remind people the pride associated with the First Republic, the freedom and hope of the Prague Spring of 1968 and the joyful feelings of the Velvet Revolution, followed by the insight into the 21st century. A cross-section of the history of the capital and the Czech nation will end with tones of the national anthem.
It will include new types of Japanese spherical bombs, 18-meter tall red pillars and large-scale bombs with a Czech flag effect, which were made in Italy.
The fireworks will be fired at Letná on January 1 at 6 pm. The show will last 660 seconds ie. 11 minutes.
