Christmas Opera Concert

New Town Hall (Novoměstská radnice), Karlovo náměstí 1/23, Praha 2 - Nové Město, 120 00

22. 12. 2017

Four opera singers will definitely tune you up for the holiday season at the Gothic-Renaissance New Town City Hall. The charming soprano Simona Šaturová is a star on many European opera stages – she gained her renown as one of the best Mozart interpreters; one of the international reviews called her a “Mozart miracle”. Her current roaster of Mozart heroines – Constanze (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Ilia and Elettra (Idomeneo), Despina (Così fan tutte), Sandrina (La finta giardiniera), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) will expand this season: she will be Lucio Cinna in Lucio Silla at La Monnaie, Brussels.

Tenor Petr Nekoranec, one of the most talented singers of today’s opera world, received numerous awards at prestigeous singing competitions, including the absolute winner of the Francesco Viñas International Singing Competition in Barcelona (January 2017). He was a member of the Bavarian State Opera and its opera studio from 2014 to 2016. Since September 2016, he’s enrolled at the Lindemann Program of the Metropolitan Opera New York, as the first Czech student in the history. He enchanted audiences of the New Town Hall several times, not only with his excellent vocal command, but also with playing a guitar and a good sense of humour. He invited another young talented singer to his concert in September – bass-baritone Lukáš Bařák, who left no-one in doubt that he is at the beginning of a great opera career. Lukáš is currently studying at the Music University in Vienna and gets stage experiences in the local opera studio, e.g. as Publius (La clemenza di Tito). Soprano Tereza Štěpánková is a newbie at the Nachtigall Artists concerts. Just like Petr Nekoranec, she is a student of prof. Jarmila Chaloupková at the Pardubice Conservatory and she regularly works with the renowned Italian tutor Antonio Carangello. In 2016, she won the Hope of Opera Award at the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. She was also The Queen of the Night at the Pardubice Conservatory production of Die Zauberflöte.
