Two Worlds / One World
- 30. 1. 2018
The topic of the evening is a relationship between a man and a woman — the most authentic source of inspiration for the art of dancing.
The leading emotion of Falling Angels is the exciting and direct movement of eight dancers. Kylian’s choreography is made memorable through Reich’s minimalism, who knew how to bring the phase method to the edge of human technical capabilities. The music by Steve Reich provides the basis for the independent development of the choreography.
B/olero by Ohad Naharin is an illustration of a playful duet. While in Falling Angels Kylian feels the urge to prime the dancing, Ohad Naharin’s production rather uses the endless possibilities of a synthesizer in the interpretation of Isao Tomita. Additionally it is precisely Ohad Naharin, current director of Batsheva ensemble in Tel Aviv, who accepted our unusual offer to present this choreography through his choice of soloists.
