Prague — various places

  • open air

The Open Gardens Festival, which offers a glimpse into gardens normally closed to the public and allows visitors to see familiar parks from a new perspective, is entering its 16th year. The event provides an opportunity to learn about different approaches to caring for green spaces and to gain a deeper understanding of their significance and function in everyday life. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of garden art, landscape architecture, parks, gardens, and public spaces through guided tours and other accompanying programs. Individual sites present their stories and unique features, offering visitors a one-of-a-kind learning experience. In Prague, several community and private gardens, as well as the Gardens below Prague Castle, always join the event with guided tours.

Prague programme

The Open Gardens Weekend doesn’t mean free admission; rather, it refers to the opening of places that are normally closed to the public. The admission fee is therefore always at the owner’s discretion. However, most gardens are free to visit.

Open Garden & Squares Weekend originated in the UK and takes place during the second weekend in June. The project has met with a great response and has gradually become a tradition across Europe.
