Map collection of the Charles University Science Faculty, Prague

The most notable University map collection in Central Europe is once again open to the public after refurbishment. It comprises 130,000 maps, 2,000 atlases, 90 globes and 10,000 miscellaneous documents. One particularly interesting exhibit is the inflatable Cell paper globe of 1831, which folds down into a small box, 9 x 21 x 21 cm, but inflates to 113 cm in diameter. Also remarkable is the collection of 80 globes of all types, sizes and materials.
