Private visit to the Old Town Hall

Experience the Prague Astronomical Clock, probably the best preserved medieval astronomical clock in the world, up close on an exclusive guided tour. The Bohemian Muse gives you the opportunity to see and experience things that are normally off limits to Prague’s visitors.

What awaits you?

• You will enjoy a private, unhurried tour of the interiors of the historic Old Town Hall.
• You will be accompanied throughout by an official licensed guide providing a talk in Czech or a foreign language of your choice.
• You will have the opportunity to go “beyond the ropes” and visit areas outside the normally open sightseeing routes.
• You will get a close look at unique large-format paintings by the painter Václav Brožík, who gained fame in Paris, where he lived and worked.
• You will be able to see the mechanism of the world-famous astronomical clock from 1410 and learn about the twelve apostles who appear every hour in two small windows of the clock.
• You will meet and talk with the clock master, who will amaze you with his knowledge (he speaks Czech and French, the guide interprets into other languages).
• You will see up close the wooden altar of the Virgin Mary, which was severely damaged at the end of the Second World War and did not return to the Old Town Hall until more than 70 years later.
• At the end of the tour, you will climb the town hall’s nearly 70-metre-high tower and soak up the magnificent view.

• Any time by appointment during the opening hours of the Old Town Hall (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.)
• Guided tours outside opening hours are also available on request.
• Please note that your experience of the Old Town Hall’s decorations will be rather better in daylight, but that the unique formal rooms remain impressive even after sunset.
