Scholarships and Fees

There are several ways of getting a scholarship, and it’s entirely up to you, whichever one you’ll deem more suitable for your needs and capabilities. The most basic differentiation lies in the institution which provides the scholarships – whether it is the university you will be visiting or an external organization.

Scholarships offered by universities

Charles University

Financial support for students from abroad studying English programmes is organized individually by each respective department. Currently, there are altogether 3 faculties that offer a scholarship to promising students.

Each faculty also offers scholarships for students with outstanding study results. This scholarship may be applied for after the first year of study. The internal regulations of each respective faculty prescribe the exact amount of scholarship.

Czech Technical University in Prague

Students of CTU may apply for a scholarship after completing their first semester of study to the Vice-Dean for International Relations of their respective faculty. Successful applicants will receive a monthly grant, the amount of which may vary up to 10.000 CZK (cca 400 EUR/440 USD) per month. The scholarship might also be awarded on the basis of outstanding study records.

Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

There are several ways of getting a scholarship at CZU. The first instance is a Merit Scholarship, awarded to students with excellent study results. Secondly, you might apply for Social Scholarship intended for those who find themselves in a precarious personal situation. Aside from these, you may also apply for an Accommodation Scholarship, which will help you cover your living costs or a Doctoral Scholarship for those who pursue their PhD. University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague

Students of UCT, Prague can apply for a scholarship after completing their first year of study and it is awarded based on excellent study results. Successful applicants receive a grant in an amount equal to their tuition fee per year.

Scholarships offered by other institutions and programmes

A helpful web portal where you can find available scholarship opportunities for various places in the world is the Scholarship Portal.

If you have no luck, you may also try the scholarships offered by the Czech government. First from this rank are the scholarships awarded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The second opportunity lies in the scholarships advertised by the Foreign Development Assistance, which provides support for the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.

There are also three international programmes that provide support to students from all around the globe – Science without Borders, Bolashak and Visegrad Scholarship Programme.
