A tour with an official guide through the Saint Wenceslas Vineyard, where kings and emperors used to enjoy their wine.

What awaits you?

  • An expert talk on one of the oldest vineyards in Bohemia. The tour with an official guide begins in the grounds of Strahov Monastery, whose vineyards, like the Saint John Vineyard, were once the property of the Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians.
  • You will explore the incomparable landscape of the vineyard, which is part of Prague Castle. Legends have it that Prince Wenceslas himself tended the vines in the vineyards below Prague Castle as early as the 10th century. The current site of the Saint Wenceslas Vineyard is proof of the deep-rooted wine-growing tradition in the capital.
  • You will pass through the largest castle complex in the world, where the likes of the Holy Roman Emperor Rudolf II indulged in wine.
  • Wine tasting in the Classicist Richter Villa.
  • A bottle of Saint Wenceslas Vineyard wine worth CZK 1,290 per couple.
