Prague - the world’s 7th best city to live!

Well how about that! There’s been quite a bumper crop of various awards, titles and achievements lately, and now Prague has yet more to be proud of! This time it’s no less than ranking among the best cities in the world. Our metropolis placed a magnificent 7th. A good enough reason to celebrate, don’t you think?

It’s all part of this year’s “Time Out Index”. They canvassed 27,000 respondents, living in cities all over the world, like Melbourne, Madrid, Chicago, Copenhagen, Tel Aviv or Tokyo.

The survey comprised a set of questions not limited to gastronomy and culture. This year, the survey highlighted some hot topics, like public greenery and its cultivation, community projects, or the latterly much lauded issue of environmental sustainability.

Let’s not beat about the bush and reveal that in the top ten Prague was rubbing shoulders with such notable cities as San Francisco, New York, Montreal and Amsterdam.

And what did Prague-voting supporters appreciate the most?

Prague’s overall beauty and architectural diversity. There were positive responses about sports and leisure activities – after all, the very centre of our metropolis is a fit place to go for a run, lie down with a book on a picnic blanket, play frisbee or even do some bobbying in the winter.

That’s why Prague was runner-up in the world-wide ‘Relaxation’ category.
