Indian festival in the heart of Europe will flood the streets of the old City.
Participants dressed in colourful costumes will march through the city centre, singing matras, rhythmical ringing of small bells and burning incense sticks. This march will traditionally kick of the event, which programme will continue at Republik Square, beginning at 3 p.m. The march will start at the same place at 12 o' clock.
Ratha Yatra is one of the oldest spiritual festivals in the world. It has been held in India for hundreds of years. It was founded in the city of Puri in the Odisha Indian state and is connected with the Hindu God Krishna. Ratha means a chariot and yatra means a pilgrimage or procession in Sanskrit.
Admission free, as well as tasting of Indian dishes.
