- Wed 16. 5. 2018 – Sun 2. 9. 2018
Jiří Kolář ranks to the most renowned Czech fine artists of the latter half of the 20th century. He launched his artistic career as an autodidact, a poet and a translator. The exhibition presents a selection of his poetry and fine art works which unveil how unorthodoxically he was able to formulate his opinions about the world. One of the important exhibits is the Diary 1968 – a series of 66 collages capturing the dramatic events of that time. This will be accompanied by some of his almost not yet known works. The exhibits will include works from the National Gallery, Kampa Museum, Jiří Kolář Estate, Neues Museum Nurnberg and other private collections.
