The set of pictures by Hynek Martinec is an illustration of the conceptually formulated game based on a fictive story to build a Baroque cathedral in Iceland in the first half of the 18th century. K. I. Dientzenhofer did not build here a cathedral yet allegedly preserved set of pictures which should have decorated the cathedral is put on display at this exhibition. Approx. 30 pictures and drawings are thematically related with many works from the Baroque collection of the National Gallery in Prague. Martinec´ reinterpretations and paraphrases lead to reviewing of the models and reflection about position of contemporary painting and role of the context.
