For the first time, Prague citizens and visitors will have a chance to see how the house of Josip Plečník in Ljubljana looks like. The travelling exhibition has been prepared by the City Museum of Ljubljana.
The architect's home in Trnovo is marked by Plečnik's inquisitive spirit and asceticism, and numerous architectural experiments on the house later proved to be useful solutions in other projects, therefore Plečnik declared his house to be "a testing hotbed". Today, Plečnik House is a unique space of remembrance of this extraordinary artist, and a space of inspiration for creators of all ages and generations, who know how to listen to the numerous stories the house tells.
At the exhibition, they will see documentation of this house renovation, accompanied by Plečnik's drawing utensils and his personal objects, small-scale clay and plaster models, original sketches and letters from president T. G. Masaryk, his daughter Alice, and friend Otto Rothmayer, all of which linked Plečnik with Prague.
