Sokol, Valečka, Skála, Takeda: Resurrection
- 29. 3. 2018 – 15. 5. 2018
Photographs, pictures and installation of 4 distinguished Czech and Japanese artists
The photographer and one of the former members of the art group Bratrstvo (Brotherhood) has captured several spiritual portraits.
Idyllic pictures by Jaroslav Valečka draw the viewers‘ attention to the area known as Sudety or Sudetenland. This area becomes alive again thanks to the narration about loneliness that is hidden in the pictures.
The multi-talented artist and visionary František Skála works with objects which were created for different purposes. Thanks to him, they receive a second life.
The animal skeletons by Hideo Takeda look like if they have been extracted from a book of extinct animals. The Japanese caricaturist captures their creepiness with colourful accents and breathes new life into them with a touch of humour.
