Rejoice trumpets, sing out, flourish! The great Barber of Seville enters!

After 15 years The Barber is coming back to Ostrava! The story of the servant, Figaro, and his master, resonating in Rossini’s parlando, inspired Ostrava’s famous musician Jaromir Nohavica, who on the occasion of the theatre’s 200th premiere of The Barber of Seville, created a new Czech Libretto for The National Moravian-Silesian Theatre. And this is not his first contribution to our theatre! Recently, he has already produced Czech versions of librettos for three operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791).

Comic opera in two acts from 1816. Libretto by Cesare Sterbini (1784-1831) based on the famous comedy Le Barbier de Sevilla by Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais (1732–1799).

Performed in a new Czech version with Czech and English subtitles.
