In the underground shelter under the former monument of Stalin, it is being built an audio-visual exposition called Memories of the Nation, which is devoted to the key moments of the Czechoslovakian modern history, especially to the both totalitarian regimes. The horrors of World War II, the fate of political prisoners, dissent, informers, Prague Spring, August 1968, normalization, November 1989.
In the left part of the shelter, visitors can listen to authentic testimonies. In the right part they will find out a multimedia installation which aim to install in the visitors the impression of stepping right back to this era. The Battle of Britain, death marches, interrogation by the StB (State Security Service), and more. Up, at the site of the former Stalin’s monument, a new symbolic monument will appear commemorating censure and a lack of freedom.
