Russian Classical Ballet is a prestigious Moscow ensemble led by the renowned dancer Evgeniya Bespalova. For the first time in Prague, it will present the well-known story about love, betrayal and triumph of good over evil.
Swan Lake is considered to be the most spectacular classical ballet. Its choreography requires high levels of dancers’ skills to interpret characters. The double character – purity of the White Swan and intrigue of the Black Swan – have need of a high level of virtuosity and drama interpretation abilities from the prima ballerina, esp. in the two Grand Pas de Deux in Act 2 and Act 3. Another peak of the ballet is the dance of little swans.
The prestige and fame of the work is due to the music motifs by P. I. Tchaikovsky and the inventive and expressive choreography of Marius Petipa. The success of Tchaikovsky's compositions results from his ability to express feelings through musical language and to create intense and emotional melodies.
Visitors will see a classical production with an incredibly realistic sets from the famous St. Petersburg Studio, where sets have already been produced for the Bolshoi Theatre, the Mariinsky Theatre, the Paris Opera or La Scala.
