The oeuvre of František Kyncl mirrors a conflict between rationalism and intuition, order and randomness. František Kyncl was born in Pardubice in 1934, after 1968 he lived in Düsseldorf. He exhibited with many acclaimed German artists in prestigious galleries.
Kyncl was influenced by constructivism. In his early works, he dealt with the relation between a rational, geometrical system and artist’s intuition or randomness, which can not be controlled by reason. He created 3D fragile objects, which resemble bars, nets and sometimes a cobweb. Later on, he created drawings with expressive and figurative elements. Kyncl died in Düsseldorf in 2011, he left behind a multifaceted oeuvre.
