International ballet superstar Sergei Polunin will perform his show Satori for the first time in Prague.
He was a miraculous child and the youngest first dancer of the Royal Ballet in London; but also a bad boy. He is known as the “James Dean” of ballet that scandalously left the ballet world in 2012. His triumphant comeback followed three years later in 2015. Today he performs in Hollywood movies as well as in commercials for some of the most fashionable brands and many of his ballet performances are sold out within minutes!
Sergei Polunin will perform his show Satori for the first time in Prague. The shows will take place in the Fórum Karlín on the 18th and 19th of April, 2019.
Today, Sergei Polunin captivates the whole world with his extraordinary dance talent and a vibrant life story; which was captured in 2016 by the director Steven Canto in the emotional documentary "The Dancer". The documentary was featured at the National Theater in Prague last May as a part of two exclusive shows where Polunin also danced. Tickets for both evenings were sold out in a record time of four minutes!
Now, for the first time, the Czech audience will have the opportunity to see this international ballet star in a full-length performance — Satori. The first part of the evening will offer both the most famous classical ballet works as well as a modern stage ballet, in which Polunin will dance to the above-mentioned hit “Take Me To Church.” The second half of the performance will include the title piece Satori, whose choreography was created by Sergei Polunin. The show is directed by Gabriel Marcel del Vecchio of Cirque du Soleil and the stage design is by David LaChapelle.
