The names Edith and Frank mean the two greatest stars of their genres and two different worlds at the same time, chanson and swing – Edith Piaf and Frank Sinatra. They never met on stage. That’s why this concert, built up from chansons and songs by Edith Piaf and Frank Sinatra, and also by Mireille Mathieu, Charles Aznavour and swing evergreens by Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker and others, is also a sort of fiction. For both performers, a well-known musical, jazz and chanson singer and the finalist in the first series of Czech Superstar, the motif of Edith and Frank is a long-term topic. In this feature, conducted by Czech composer and conductor Kryštof Marek and accompanied by accordionist Aliaksander Yasinski, Ondřej Kabrna’s Kvartet Jazz 4 and a string orchestra, the audiences will hear the most famous compositions that made Frank and Edith so famous, in four languages.
