A Celebratory Concert on the 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of Czechoslovakia

PAVEL FISCHER – Artistic Leader

Josef Suk - Serenade in E-flat major, Op. 6 for String Orchestra

Antonín Dvořák - String Sextet in A major, Op. 48

The festival is one of the few to have established its own chamber orchestra. Led by the soloist, composer and pedagogue Pavel Fischer, its members include laureates of world competitions, soloists and leading Czech chamber ensemble members such as the Škampa Quartet, Pavel Haas Quartet, Artemis Trio, Ensemble Martinů and Martinů Quartet, as well as concert masters and players from the world’s leading orchestras, such as the Czech Philharmonic, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, National Theatre Orchestra, PKF – Prague Philharmonia and FOK – the Prague Symphony Orchestra.

Only the best things are good – at the celebratory concert on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Czechoslovakia, the original Czech Touches of Music Festival Orchestra will present, in the intimate yet monumental New Town Hall, two of the most famous Czech national compositions by two geniuses, linked not only through the bonds of music: the famous Serenade in E-flat major, Op. 6 by Josef Suk and the popular String Sextet in A major, Op. 46 by his teacher, mentor and father-in-law, Antonín Dvořák
