1796–1917: Art of the Long Century

THE EXIHIBITION WILL BE OPEN ON NOVEMBER 13, 2019.
The exhibition will focus on the key themes typical for art of that time; on display will be portraits, landscapes, religion or history-relation works. For the first time, this new permanent exhibition will include also works by Caspar David Friedrich, Lovis Corinth, Max Klinger, Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky, Anton Romako and others.
Further on, one of its parts will be the works of the French Collection, including masterpieces by Eugen Delacroix, Camillo Corot, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and André Derain.
Sculptural works will be presented too, incl. works by Václav Levý, Josef Václav Myslbek, Josef Mařatka, Ladislav Šaloun, František Bílek, Stanislav Sucharda, Michal Powolny, Constantin Meunier, August Rodin. Hence for the first time, Czech (Middle-European) art will be presented in the international context.
