To mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, the outbreak of the Second World War and above all the introduction of the Nuremberg Laws in the Protectorate, the Documentation Centre (in close collaboration with the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague and the Area Heritage Administration at Sychrov) decided to organize an exhibition of selected items that have been identified in this manner.
Out of several thousand artefacts that were looted during the war and have been verified by the Documentation Centre (for the sake of objectivity, it must be conceded that this process would have been much more challenging without the very detailed records kept by the Germans at the time), the institutions organizing the exhibition have decided to display only those items whose original owners have been identified beyond doubt.
