On 8 February 2024, the Prague City Museum will welcome the work of photographer Miloš Budík (1935-2023) to the gallery of the Norbertov Study and Documentation Centre. The exhibition entitled "Villa Tugendhat in the Photography of Miloš Budík" will bring an unusual insight into architectural history to Prague.

Miloš Budík began taking photographs at the age of sixteen and soon became one of the most successful photographers in Czechoslovakia. He worked for Bohuslav Fuchs, photographing landscapes, fashion or even the environment of hospitals and architecture. Budík's images are characterized by dynamic portrayal of space, in which he uses the play of natural light and shadows.

The paradoxical use of one of the most luxurious interiors of European modern architecture documented by Miloš Budík can be seen in retrospect as a certain warning against the dehonesty of monuments, but also as proof of the timeless design of Villa Tugendhat, which managed to cope with the temporary function of a gymnasium with refinement.
