Practical information

Family marionette theatre gained its greatest popularity during the First Republic (1918-1938). The exhibit includes prosceniums, backdrops, marionettes, set pieces, props and theatre performances. Many Czech artists, including Mikuláš Aleš and Artuš Scheiner, contributed to its creation. Part of the exhibit focuses on artistic connections with the theatre Říše loutek (Marionette Empire) from Vojtěch Sucharda and Bohumír Koubek. By prior arrangement we offer marionette workshops and shows for pre and elementary schools.
