Václav Havel Library
The Václav Havel Library functions as a centre for the documentation and research of modern Czech history with an emphasis on promoting the ideas and works of Václav Havel: playwright, fighter against totalitarianism, leader of the 1989 Velvet Revolution, Czechoslovak and Czech president, and a symbol of vigilance against despotism.

Practical information
The building’s ground-floor spaces will be dedicated to an exhibition on Václav Havel (its gala opening is planned for the start of October 2014) and used for VHL club events – all kinds of seminars, readings, exhibitions, lectures, concerts and theatre performances. The Library’s offices, archive, constantly expanding library, and reading room are located on the first floor.
