The Franz Kafka Society
The main aim of this non-governmental organisation is to support the revival of traditions that had given rise to the so-called Prague German Literature phenomenon while restoring general awareness of the Central European cultural significance, a region where the Czechs, the Germans and the Jews have been living together for centuries. Franz Kafka is a symbol for the mentioned traditions and the organisation devotes attention to his works and seeks to make his heritage a natural part of the Czech cultural context.
The Society pursues its activities through the Franz Kafka Center; it organises literary evenings, debates, specialized lectures, seminars, exhibitions and publishes books in the own Franz Kafka Publishing House.
The Franz Kafka Society also organises In the Footsteps of Franz Kafka educational activity aimed especially at students of high schools, colleges and universities.
