Čapadlo

In the center of Prague itself, an exceptional space has been created for leisure and cultural activities. This vaulted passage in the embankment wall, called a “čapadlo”, or mooring point, is located under the Hollar Gallery on the Smetana Embankment right at river level. Čapadlo offers non-alcoholic and low-alcohol drinks, Pilsner on tap, and the best Neopolitan pizzas.

These mooring points were originally gaps in the waterfront walls, later vaulted passages in the walls, where logging rafts were pulled in with a hook and unloaded.
