Metronome Festival Prague is a two-day music festival whose stellar lineup combines major international performers with a “best of” from the local scene. The headliner of this edition are the pioneers of electronic music, Kraftwerks who promised to prepare a unique 3-D show. The line-up also includes the popular British band Morcheeba who will bring their latest album Blaze Away released in June 2018. They will be joined by KAMP! from Poland and other stars.
The next big name of the fourth edition of the Metronome Festival Prague is the Scottish band Primal Scream, which has undergone interesting stylistic changes until it reached a synthesis of expression, in which it proves that good music knows no boundaries. This time, the traditional favourites of Czech audiences will bring a program built as their "BEST OF", so there is a lot to look forward to!
There are also the names of the first Czech and Slovak bands that you can look forward at the festival. It is the Czech indie pop band Khoiba, which currently makes its comeback, and the Slovak instrumental group The Ills, whose music is based on the massive sound of guitars and mesmerizing rhythm. Both bands also plan to release their new records in the first quarter of 2019, so Metronome Festival will be one of the first opportunities where you will be able to hear their new songs live.
Czech star of the 4th year of the Metronome Festival Prague will be Pražský výběr. It will be the only open-air concert the band will stage in Prague in 2019. The cult band will play in their original set of members and will play a special playlist prepared specifically for the Metronome Festival to please their traditional fans as well as those who might have not visited any of their concerts yet.
What next artists will represent Czech and Slovak music? They include groups like WWW, Floex & Tom Hodge, Ohm Square, and Manon Meurt, while Katarzia will make the trip from Slovakia. The five new acts will exquisitely complement the broad range of performers at this year’s festival, adding some originality, quality, and newness that’s reflected in their large fanbases and positive reviews from critics.
Also Liam Gallagher is coming to the Festival. Former frontman of legendary Oasis is going to perform in Prague for the very first time. Liam will perform a full 90-minute open-air concert during which he’ll present songs both from his current successful solo album As You Were as well as the most popular hits by Oasis.
The unbelievably diverse mix of performers at this year’s Metronome Festival has expanded once again with the addition of two talented British singer-songwriters: Anna Calvi and Lauran Hibberd. Anna Calvi is currently enjoying the success of her third album and she’s also participated on many projects with some of the biggest names in music. Meanwhile Lauran Hibberd can be considered one of the brightest rising stars of the indie rock world with her forthright songs inspired by the music of the 1990s.
The Metronome festival was launched in 2016, the first year attracted 7,500 people, the last one saw 18,000 people.
