Truth Prevails (Is Prevailing). Pictures From Not Just Czech History

The aim of the exhibition is to reflect on some stereotypes associated with the presentation of history. It points at how works on paper (such as leaflets, authentic records and magazine illustrations) can express an official opinion on a certain piece of history or conversely the opposite one. The important roles in the reflection of history play also humour and the frustration from not having been successful for a long time. These two aspects may intertwine.

Although the name of the exhibition paraphrases what is written on the banner of the President of the Czech Republic, the exhibition should prove that the ways how the Czech history is presented visually are not different from the other ones. Some specifics have a relation to certain pieces of history or particular people, but not to how artists or illustrators have treated them. The repetition of the same situations may point at the relativism of the history, which is hinted in the name of the exhibition.
